Basic Issues in the Southern African Region
Southern Africa is a region rich in natural resources, cultural diversity, and economic potential. Countries such as South Africa , Zimbabwe , Botswana , Namibia , and Mozambique contribute greatly to the development of the African continent. Despite its strengths, the region faces several social, economic, political, and environmental challenges that affect the lives of millions of people. Poverty and Unemployment One of the major issues in Southern Africa is poverty. Many people struggle to meet basic needs such as food, clean water, healthcare, and housing. High unemployment rates, especially among young people, worsen the situation. In some countries, industries and businesses are unable to create enough jobs for the growing population.
